Travel Bug: What to Pack for a Week Long Tropical Vacation

If you are like me, when it comes to packing you usually wait until the final hour and then it’s a scattered frenzy of throwing just about anything in your suitcase without any thought, rhyme or reason, just hoping for the best. That often results in mismatched outfits, bringing too much of the unnecessary and forgetting the necessary. Here is a quick little list to make any tropical destination packing as relaxing as you’re soon to be retreat in the land of sun and sand.

  •   3-4 fun and cute bikinis & swimsuits (you will live in these during the day, you can mix and match and they pack super easy)
  •  Beach Cover Up & or Pareo (doubles as a scarf/ blanket on the plane)
  •  Wide-brimmed hat or Fedora
  •   1 pair of flip flops
  •   1 pair of runners
  •   1 pair of casual sandals
  •   1 pair of embellished sandals for evening
  •   4-5 Flowing sun dresses / Maxi dresses & skirts
  •   1 lightweight white or denim button down shirt (for cooler nights with shorts/maxi skirt or to cover shoulders on the beach if you’re getting too much sun)
  •   1 Large beach bag (double as carry on)
  •   Sunscreen
  •   Lip moisturizer
  •   Aloe Vera
  •   1 Pair of Fun & Trendy Sunnies
  •   Hair Elastics
  •   1 Cardigan
  •   1 -2 day dress/ sundress
  •   Mix of 5 basic tanks, and T’s in black, white or grey
  •   1 Pair of shorts (that can go from day to night)
  •   1 Pair of jeans
  •   Colourful and tropical accessories
  •    1 Clutch (neutral for evening)
  •    1 Athletic outfit for working out and adventure  
  •    Undergarments and sleepwear
  •    1 Deliciously juicy beach read

Travel Style Tip: To save on luggage space and outfit confusion, try to coordinate your wardrobe palette by choosing colours that mix and match easily with one another.
