Breakfast in Bed

Breakfast in Bed

It goes without saying that there is a huge amount of pressure that follows in his wake when Cupid comes to town. Single, hitched or newly swiped, it can be an emotionally sticky time of year.  While Valentine's is a $19 Billion industry it can leave many of us feeling lonely, emotionally vulnerable and broke! Fear not sweet friends, I've got a way to make it all feel good. It doesn't matter if you are in a relationship or not, Valentine's is a day to celebrate love. All love. Self-Love, romantic love, friendly love, old love, new love, born again love or just all the kinds of feel good love, it's all the same to me.

I think we can all agree that breakfast is awesome and breakfast in bed is even more awesome. So, what better way to start your day of love with a little sweet morning charcuterie. It's simple, easy to throw together and if your mornings are too rushed who's to say you can't flip the day on it's head and finish it with a midnight snack attack instead!?!

Keep it fun, flirty and most of all simple. Mix sweet with savory and add yours and your lovers favourites. Pair with a little bubbly or mimosa and enjoy!

Here are my suggestions (Feel free to add your own):

  • Waffles (homemade or store bought - remember it's about the thought)
  • Berries, fresh fruit
  • Dried fruit and nuts
  • Creamy brie
  • Jams, chocolate sauce, nut butters
  • Hard boiled eggs
  • Muffins, doughnuts, macaroons or other sweet treats
  • Greek Yogurt, crème fraîche or ricotta topped with honey & cinamon
  • Croissants

Bon Appétit
