Feel Good Face - What's NOT in my Makeup Bag
Alright friends, I have been on a mission for years to find amazing, botanically based, vegan cosmetics that not only work but that feel luxurious too. Trust me when I say I’ve tried pretty much every brand out there. Not all vegan makeup is created equal and I know I’ve found the best quality and ingredients in Arbonne. Out of 1400 toxic carcinogens the European Union has banned, the US has only ban 10!!!!!! Do you know what’s in your makeup bag? Arbonne has a 2000 + list of no no ingredients. That’s why I don’t only trust it, I love it & I use it everyday!
This is a blog about toxins in our cosmetics. A PSA to take a closer look at what we are putting in our products and in turn putting into our bodies. The average time it takes for the products we put onto our skin to be absorbed in our bodies is 26 seconds! That’s a crazy fast amount of time you guys! So I’m going to share a few buzz words with you of what to look for and avoid putting in your make-up bag and on your face! We get one body let’s treat it with all the love it craves and deserves.
Mineral Oil: Ever wonder why you still get breakouts even though high school ended years ago? This one acts as saran wrap on the skin. Our skin is our largest detoxifying organ! Mineral oil prevents the excretion of toxins, trapping in bacteria and causing acne.
Parabens: These little nasties are hormone disruptors. They are a cosmetic preservative that have been linked to causing cancers, increasing skin aging and DNA damage.
Phthalates: They occur naturally and are derived from crude oil! GROSS!! Phthalates damage the lungs, liver and have been linked to cause infertility, birth defects, autoimmune disorders and cancer.
Petroleum: This is also a CRUDE OIL!!! It’s a neurotoxin that causes damage to all vital organs and can cause: headaches, memory loss and loss of muscle control.
These are just a sample of the junk that is found in our everyday cosmetics and skincare. Health is more than just diet and exercise my friends! It starts the minute you get up and wash your face. READ YOUR LABELS!
